Back in 2016, a group of Labour members came together to become more proactively involved in campaigning and political education: Momentum Halton was born.
Part of the bigger, national Momentum movement,we believe in a more equal society and aim to challenge the grand narrative that austerity is the only way forward.
During the 2017 General Election, we campaigned over in Weaver Vale, helping to secure an overwhelming majority for Labour MP Mike Amesbury, who took the seat back from the Tories.
As a result of the close relationships forged during this time, in August 2017, Momentum Halton merged with Weaver Vale to form a bigger and better group.
Through this blog, we aim to:
- Bring you updates of our events and campaigns
- Create a forum to discuss key political issues
- Provide external links to independent news groups
- Give the people of Halton and Weaver Vale a voice and online presence
We’re excited to share your experiences and ideas, and provide a platform for community cohesion.
If you have something you’d like to share with us – perhaps you’ve been affected by the cuts, you have an idea for improving your local community, or you just want a platform to promote your political ideas, contact us!
